JC Group is part of a team developing zero-carbon dwellings for a UK housebuilder, with two BRE-backed prototype homes built to test innovative products and construction methods.
The brief is to deliver a genuinely ground-breaking product for the UK market by combining innovative design with modern methods of construction. Two identical prototypes are fitted with different product sets to enable comparative testing and research.
- Objectives: House & apartment types; TM59 overheating compliance (all locations/orientations in England & Wales); Passivhaus certification; LETI NZCiO; no fossil fuels; standardised DfMA/MMC design.
- Approach: Iterative design & prototyping with the BRE; side-by-side trials of innovative products to validate real-world performance.
